The founders of the cultural society are the church mixed choir, which sang in the castle chapel after the Second World War. When the then municipal and other authorities banned worship in the chapel in 1949, the choir, which remained “on the road” overnight, established a cultural association so that it could survive. It still works today without interruption.
In later years, a theater group, a cinema section, a folklore group and a library began to operate within the society, but they did not manage to stay for a long time. Fortunately, new groups and some once active activities began to appear within the association.
The members of the association are grateful that the Municipality of Rače-Fram always stands by our side, offers us spatial possibilities of operation and exceptional help in all forms.
Tone Žuraj has been the president of KUD Rače since 2006.
